Jumping from 8,000 feet above Tryon International Equestrian Center, the Special Forces Association Parachute Team captured a patriotic tribute of 10,000 spectators celebrating TIEC’s grand opening event on Saturday, June 6, 2015 in Mill Spring, NC. Strapped with Go-Pro helmet cameras, the parachute team, carrying the American flag, descended gracefully into the TIEC arena as Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Lee Greenwood sang his legendary hit, “God Bless the U.S.A.” The grand opening festivities were anchored by the equestrian center’s $210,000 Governor’s Cup Grand Prix, presented by Rolex, and the competition aired the following day nationwide on “NBC Sports Network.”

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory welcomed the packed arena to the $210,000 Governor’s Cup Grand Prix, and Mark Bellissimo, managing partner of Tryon Equestrian Partners, followed with the unveiling of the elite, four-sided Rolex Clock Tower.
