I am! After the summer we had, we need it. So do the fish. The water was over 85 degrees at 5 am. I’d hate to see how hot it was at noon. I’m off the lake in the summer by 10 am. if possible.

I like the fall the best, because of all the changes. Trees take on their fall colors. Temperatures start to drop. The fish start to think about winter if it gets cold enough at night. Then they start thinking about food, more in the fall than the spring.

In the spring they are in the mood for love. In the fall if we get four or five cool nights in a row, you could be in for some of the best fishing of your life.
As soon as the leaves fall off the trees the trout fishing should get really good. It’s also good just before the leaves fall off. It’s just harder when the leaves are falling in the water. From now until summer is the best time to fish for trout.
Bluegill, perch and white bass are also aggressive this time of year.  So grab some bait and a few kids and take them fishing. The smiles will be worth it.
