KidSenses Children’s InterACTIVE Museum, First Friday every month in 2015

Fantastic Friday’s free admission program! The museum will provide free admission on the first Friday of every month throughout 2015. KidSenses will welcome all visitors, free of charge, to visit the museum from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. On each Fantastic Friday all visitors will be able to participate in free, fun, exciting and hands-on learning programs about science and energy. Programs will focus on the theme of renewable energy.

Meet some of Grady the Groundhog’s woodland friends or possibly our birds of prey. Our resident education animals are the stars of the 2pm program, Try to outwit gravity with a free climb per person on our climbing tower open 11am-4pm. Cost is included in park admission.


Wild Mushroom Walks, September 11th & 25th from 11:00 am to noon, Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park,


Whet your appetite on this guided hike as we identify and learn about a dozen or so of the most common mushrooms of more than 1,000 species that could be growing in Western N.C. Led by Karen Johnson, member of State Parks and the Asheville Mushroom Club. Cost is included in park admission.
