Lap tops, smart phones, tablets, and such,
What did we do before these?
We used to talk or write to each other,
But now we just punch in some keys.
They are a hazard when driving a car,
As everyone reads and hears,
But the addiction to all these wonderful things,
Keeps the warnings from reaching our ears.
It’s even dangerous to walk on sidewalks,
Lest you’re knocked down by an oblivious clown,
Who is glued to a tablet or a smart phone,
And doesn’t know you’re even around.
Some even send texts and pictures,
To others sitting at the same table.
Someone should invent a disabling device,
Oh! How I wish I was able!
