At the December 8th Lake Lure Town Meeting a new Town Council was introduced. Bob Cameron was elected to his 2nd four year term, Stephen Webber to his 1st four year term and Mayor Bob Keith to his 4th two year term. All were sworn in by Town Clerk Anita Taylor as shown below. Joining them and rounding out the Council are incumbents Mary Ann Silvey and John Moore.

Diane Barrett was recognized for her service on council most notably for her liaison activities on the Parks and Recreation Board. Thank you Diane and the best to you in the future

Bob Cameron has an Electrical Contracting business and while on council was instrumental in the redesign and establishment of Washburn Marina and Morse Park and serves as liaison to the Board of Adjustment and Lake Structures Appeals Boards.

Stephen Webber is a 21 year resident of Lake Lure, is a retired Army Command Sgt Major and has served as Chairman of the same two Boards mentioned above for 13 years. Stephen will continue to Chair the BOA and act as the liaison for both Boards.

The Council faces a challenging start to 2016 having to make a decision on the re-development request by the Lodge on Lake Lure, funding and managing the $400K per year lake dredging program and formulating a solution for our sewer system to name a few of our top priority projects.
