Certified pharmacy technicians are in high demand and now students can earn that certification at Isothermal Community College. The 108-hour program begins Jan. 11, 2016.  This is a hybrid class, meaning it has a face-to-face component plus an online component. The program lasts for nine weeks.

To achieve certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), candidates must satisfy the following eligibility requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent educational diploma (GED, foreign diploma).
  • Complete and pass a full criminal back-ground check.
  • Compliance with all applicable PTCB Certification policies.
  • Passing score on the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE).
