Following several months of public meetings and deliberations by advisory boards and Town Council, the application by the Lodge on Lake Lure to be re-zoned for commercial use passed in December.

The Town received nearly 200 letters that expressed views on the proposed expansion.  As mentioned, the Town Council has approved the project and created a new zoning district on the property, with site-specific conditions and stipulations. The next step is to receive and review detailed construction plans.

This is a construction project now, and as with any construction project, the Town will work with the owners and contractors to manage the activity, to keep everyone safe and to minimize disruption.  Communication with neighbors and constituents is a responsibility we take seriously.

The owners of the Lodge have committed often, and very publicly, to improving the Lodge in a way that is harmonious with the neighborhood.  Our community will hold them to it.

Please contact the Town with any questions or to make us aware of any issues during the project.
