It has been a milestone school year for Lake Lure Classical Academy, one that began with a ribbon cutting ceremony in August and will end with the charter school’s 26 seniors becoming LLCA’s first graduating class in June. Many students in the Class of 2016 started attending LLCA when its doors first opened in the fall of 2010 and have watched their school grow from a K-7 school in portable buildings to a K-12 school on a brand new campus.

In preparation for graduation, seniors have been working hard all year focusing on academic performance; community service; college entrance exams; college visits and the college application process. As of April 2016, seniors have received acceptance letters from the following colleges and universities:

Appalachian State University

Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College

Berry College

Eastern Washington University

Flagler College

Florida State University

Hampshire College

Hampden-Sydney College

Hillsdale College

Isothermal Community College

Lenoir-Rhyne University

With help from their families and LLCA staff, the 12th Graders have enjoyed all the “senior rights of passage” from ordering class rings, caps and gowns to planning memorable evens like their Senior Prom.

Commencement will take place on June 11, 2016 at The Foundation at Isothermal Community College in Spindale, NC.
