If you missed the performance by the Symphony at the Gathering Place in Chimney Rock Village last spring, you’re in luck. The Symphony will be back to perform again this year on Saturday, May 14 as the Grand Finale of SpringGo 2016.

The 5th Annual SpringGo Fest will begin the day of family fun with a Pancake Breakfast from 7-10am at the Chimney Rock Volunteer Firehouse. The cows (producers of cow pie for the Cow Pie Bingo Raffle!), will make their way to the bingo field next to the Gathering Place at 9am. Tickets are now on sale at April’s Boutique, Bubba O’Leary’s Outfitters, the Carter Lodge, the Chamber of Hickory Nut Gorge, Coffee on the Rocks, Gale’s Chimney Rock Shop and Medina’s Bistro in Chimney Rock at $25 each for a chance to win $1250 for the square that has the largest cow pie deposit! Only 100 tickets will be sold, so your chances are good. The winner will be determined at 2pm, but you don’t have to be present to win.

Stake out your spot to view the SpringGo parade that is scheduled to come through the Village at 10:30am. Check out the hand-crafted garden art made out of recycled materials that will be displayed throughout the Village while you’re there. Ballots to bid on your favorite piece or pieces of art will be available in nearby shops. Winners of this silent auction will be announced before the Symphony plays that evening.

Everyone can be an artist and create their own work of art beginning at noon under the tent at the Gathering Place. No experience is necessary. The Paint Bug will show you how it’s done and supply all the tools you need to paint a beautiful painting in a stunning environment. The cost to participate is only $35. Go to Paint-Bug.com to register. Space is limited, so get your gang together and sign up today.

Later that afternoon, you’ll want to wash the paint off your hands, pack your cooler with your favorite libation, grab your chairs and doll up a little. At 5pm, the tables will be turned, the grills will be cooking and dinner will be served while The Symphony of Rutherford County, conducted by Dr. Patricia Carmelina Sparti, D.M.A., sets up for their encore presentation of their spring concert at the Gathering Place. Dinner will be available from 5:30 -7pm. The Symphony will present their program from 6:30-7:45pm, weather permitting.
