Last Sept 24th, the Rutherford Outdoor Coalition (ROC) held their annual Broad River Fall Sweep. The weather was perfect and we had a great turn out with several new participants from Rutherford and Cleveland Counties.

The clean-up covered 4 sections of the Broad River in Rutherford County from Rock Springs Church Rd to Coxe Rd.  Over 500 lbs of trash, including 13 tires and one tractor tire was removed as well as several trees and limbs that were blocking passage through the river.

The volunteers had a great time and a few new friends were made along the way. These clean-ups are a great way to meet other people from the community who enjoy being on the river.
