The leadership team at Lake Lure Classical Academy is putting the final touches on the graduation tracks a student can choose starting in the 2017-2018 school year. Per Tom Keever, LLCA Executive Director,” offering students more academic choices in their area of interest and career goals is the right thing to do for our community.”

LLCA and Isothermal Community College are in close collaboration designing Dual Enrollment Tracks. A motivated student completing the Dual Track can earn an Associate’s Degree as well as a High School Diploma. Another Collaborative Track is Technical Prep where a student could take courses at ICC campus during the Junior and Senior year in a field of interest. Students would attend LLCA in the morning and ICC classes in the afternoons. LLCA will still offer the Traditional Lake Lure Classical Diploma Path which is rigorous and also gives students the selection of some ICC courses.

Keever believes that with LLCA’s small class sizes and individualized scheduling, mentoring and faculty advising, students will have a unique and positive experience.

LLCA will publish the 2017-2018 course catalogue in February and is currently accepting applications for the current and next school year. Keever states, “right now we have plenty of room for new students, but I foresee a lottery becoming a reality sooner than later for available seats. I always need to remind parents that we are a FREE, public charter school.”
