The Chamber of Hickory Nut Gorge announces its 10th Annual New Year’s Day Polar Plunge in Lake Lure, North Carolina. The event will take place January 1, 2018 at the Lake Lure Beach area.
We’re excited this year to once again hold the Plunge in our incredible lake, offering us a large plunging area for those that want to go full body plunge, or for those that want to do the big toe dip. Either way you’re sure to have the time of your life at our 10th Anniversary LLNYDPP!
Registration will begin at 10 am. and will last until 11:30 am. The registration fee is $20 per person. Online pre-registration will be available beginning December 1, 2017 by going to the Chamber of Hickory Nut Gorge’s webpage and following links to the Lake Lure New Year’s Day Polar Plunge Pre-Registraiton.
The Plunge will begin at 12 noon. Judges for the Best Costume will be judged by the Mayor of Lake Lure and other guest judges.
Other prizes for the Oldest and Youngest Plunger, as well as who traveled the furthest, will be awarded.
In Celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Plunge, a custom designed LLNYDPP 10th Anniversary Commemorative Medal will be given to each ‘Plunger’.
Plan to stay for our LLNYDPP gathering by the fire pits following the Plunge.
Proceeds from this event will benefit The Chamber of Hickory Nut Gorge and Hickory Nut Gorge First Responders. For more information on this event visit the Lake Lure New Year’s Day Polar Plunge Facebook page or email to LLNYDPP@gmail.com. To contact Kat Canant, phone 828-243-0540.
