Endowment, Founders Circle and grants are growing. Won’t you join us? The mission of the Hickory Nut Gorge Foundation is to build a permanent endowment for the benefit of the Gorge. And our endowment continues to grow – almost $150,000 is invested in perpetuity to fund our grants to the Gorge.

We recently presented grants to Chimney Rock Village Community Development Association and to Chimney Rock VFD to honor Barbara and Buck Meliski as our Community Impact Award winners for 2017. Other recent grants have gone to Hickory Nut Gorge Outreach, Lake Lure Classical Academy, Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity, CMLC (now Conserving Carolina), and Lake Lure Flowering Bridge. Over the past ten years, the Foundation has provided over $20,000 in grants to organizations in the Hickory Nut Gorge.

Our 64 Founders Circle members, including eight new members in 2017, make our grants possible with their pledges of $250 per year for ten years to grow our permanent endowment.

We need your help to grow the endowment faster! Visit hickorynutgorgefoundation.org, leave a message at 828-513-0444, or contact us at P.O. Box 783, Lake Lure NC 28746 and we will be happy to show you how to join us “Giving Beyond the Horizon”
