Lake Lure Classical Academy was recently named a recipient of a Facebook Forest City Data Center Community Action Grant. The grant is for $14, 870. These funds will be used to expand and improve STEM (science, technology and engineering) learning opportunities for Lake Lure Classical Academy Students. Some of the plans include offering “coding and programing” opportunities K-8. Students will be able to work with Drone technology which involves building, programing and flying drones. Curriculum Director Dr. Tanya Watson, and Executive Director Tom Keever attended a reception at Facebook’s Forrest City Data Center and were presented a check.

All of the “paperwork,” has been completed and the school’s Gymnasium is on track. As soon as a few more details are complete a Groundbreaking will be announced. We are hopeful for an April start date for construction.
