In this free, Flowering Bridge-sponsored class, local craftsman Mark Hoek will discuss all aspects of building a fire pit. Meet at the west (Chimney Rock) end of the bridge at 10am. For more information, call 828-625-2540.

Created by Veryle Lynn Cox and Amy Wald, with assistance from bridge volunteers, this mural painted on five doors is on the Appalachian Mural Trail.

The Flowering Bridge will be decorated with scarecrows and pumpkins to celebrate the arrival of autumn and the Halloween season. For more information, call 828-625-2540.

Evenings – “Illuminate the Bridge” Installations

Stroll the Flowering Bridge after dark to view luminaries created by Lake Lure artists and bridge gardeners to celebrate the fifth anniversary of “a gateway to somewhere beautiful”. The installations will remain in place for several months.
