A big thank you from the dedicated volunteers at the Rutherfordton County Humane Society, also known as Lil’s Thrift Shop.

On August 29th Lil’s held its annual fundraiser with over 100 animal-loving people in attendance.  It was a great success!  There were over 95 generously donated silent auction items from local businesses and caring supporters, and plenty of wine and beer and desserts.  In addition to great attendance, considerable donations were gladly accepted from Keys Open Door Foundation, Inc., The Lake Lure Mahj Mavens and of course all those who attended.  Lil’s Place surpassed previous years’ fundraising efforts.  The money raised will fund medical care and food for the dogs and cats in foster care in Rutherfordton County.  Lil’s funds essential monies for this purpose.

Mark your calendars!  Lil’s Thrift Shop’s next fundraiser event will be December 3rd.   On this, Giving Tuesday, Lil’s will be open from 12 noon to 5pm.  Beer and wine will be offered for a nominal donation.  This is your best opportunity to get Christmas items at 50% off and everything else in the store will be discounted by 20%.
