As of September 30, data from CanopyMLS (formerly CarolinaMLS) shows a steady pace in the local real estate market compared with home sales in 2018. Between January 1 and September 30, Lake Lure (zip code 28746) had 97 single-family homes sold. Of those, 73 sold at $400,000 or less and 24 sold for prices above $400,000. The same period in 2018 saw 98 sales of single-family homes – 70 at $400,000 or less and 24 at prices above $400,000. The length of time it takes homes to sell has been a little more sluggish with an overall average of 8 months from list to contract (6 months under $400K/9 months over $400K).
On a positive note, showing activity in early October was strong. Optimistic buyers are inquiring and ready! The long lasting autumn beauty of Hickory Nut Gorge and region continues to draw prospective buyers to the area.
