The RBFFG completed its first full year under its new moniker and mission in 2019.

After successful social events in March, June, October; the Christmas party in December at the Lake Lure Inn was particularly festive. Members were unanimous on the marvelous sit down dinner, music, dancing and a traditional carol sing a long, was the best yet. (See pictures included taken at the event) I spoke with many or the attendees at the Christmas party and Lisa and Rob Fye, new to the group in 2019 were effusive about the event as they mentioned “we like the format of this group because we work and can’t be as social at this time.  We enjoy the hearty, seasonally themed dinners with entertainment to follow periodically, so it’s an easy fit with our schedules and we can invite our friends as well without the task of entertaining at home and   the prices are affordable.”

The plans for some nuances and more social events are well underway.  Renew your membership just in time for our first event – our Spring Fling – at the Lake Lure Inn, March 26!  With this in mind (see below), we are offering a household membership to new members of $30, a $5 discount from our usual $35 household fee.  Our remaining calendar of events includes three social events – a June, October and December event all featuring fun, food, music dancing and more @ $30 per person, all inclusive, representing an excellent value for a night out.  Long time members Karen and Buzz Kircher commented on our social events: “The RBFFG is a delight, full of fun, camaraderie, a lovely way to meet new people, ( & local friends ) ,always delicious event food & the entertainment superb – always lovely outings at reasonable prices!

As a first in 2020, we are going to host and are planning classroom style learning events with guest experts on given topics of interest, food and beverages for most depending on the event location, time etc.  Some of the topics, soon to be finalized, include:

Real Estate happenings and advice in our area – snacks and beverages.
